History

J.C. has had a love of sports extending back into child-hood and set out at the age of 7 to become a professional athlete. While the path to get there may not have always been clear, the focus never changed. "MMA kind of found me."

J.C. graduated from George Mason University in May 2005 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. J.C. received a wrestling scholarship to George Mason University after becoming the Virginia AAA State Wrestling Champion at 152lbs (see below for more information on high school years). J.C. wrestled for approximately two and a half years before being sidelined by an injury and other personal issues. This was the first time J.C. was unable to participate in sports which proved to be a revelation, helping shape his decision to regain focus and achieve his goals. While at Mason, J.C. also pledged and joined Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
